Back for the first (very) easy hike of the season. Spring is coming to Bavaria, and we took advantage of the Good Friday bank holiday to hike our first peak of 2021, the Blomberg near Bad Tölz.
We parked our car at the small parking lot along the main road 472, crossed the street and followed the pedestrian/cycling path until reaching the main parking lot of the Blomberbahn. There we started our ascent along the sledge track (Rodelbahn in German).
The path is of course very easy and wide, ascending quickly to the Blomberghaus hut at the top of the mountain. At the hut, we turned left in the direction of the Blomberg peak, which overlooks a nice meadow and the surrounding Bavarian Prealps. Passed the peak, we crossed the meadow to reach our second and last peak of the day, the Heiglkopf.
Since we arrived there quite early, we decided not to stop for lunch, but we began immediately our descent on the other side of the mountain, following the forest road up to the valley. We took then the path along the little Einbach river, emerging finally in the vicinity of the main road and of the parking lot, where we parked our car.
In the end, a nice little hike to start the season, with very few people on the path, and just 40 minutes away from Munich.
